Our Atlanta summer intensive offers a comprehensive curriculum rooted in techniques of Ballet and Modern with additional classes in Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, Dunham, Tap, and Musical Theater. Dancers ages 8 and up are invited to audition. Instruction is led by our expert faculty plus an elite roster of guest artists. The intensive culminates with a concert performance for family and friends.

ATLANTA INTENSIVE 

2-WEEK SESSION

JUNE 17 - JUNE 30th, 2024
Tuition: $1,300* (no housing)

Daily lunch included

 

LOS ANGELES INTENSIVE

4-WEEK SESSION
JUNE 24 - JULY 20, 2024
Tuition: $2250 ($500 deposit)
Housing: $3600*

IN-PERSON AUDITION

February 25, 2024 (2pm - 5pm)

Online registration for the in-person audition will end on February 23, 2024

All results are emailed following the audition. If you do not receive your results after one week, please email registrar@debbieallendanceacademy.com. You will have two weeks to accept your invitation. After that time, you will be placed on a waitlist. Those on the waitlist will be contacted after the completion of all auditions depending on availability.

WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THE AUDITION

• $25 Non-Refundable Pre-Registration Fee OR $40 walk-in Fee

• Headshot or Full-Body Dance Photo (4x6 or 5x7 preferred)

• Ladies Attire: leotard and tights, ballet slippers (pointe shoes if already dancing on pointe)

• Young Men Attire: form-fitting, white shirt and black tights or soft, athletic pants, black ballet slippers

• Please Arrive 30 Minutes Prior to Audition Time 

The audition will consist of a ballet barre and jazz/modern combinations across the floor.

VIDEO AUDITIONS:
ALL VIDEO AUDITIONS FOR THE ATLANTA SUMMER INTENSIVE ARE DUE BY MAY 18, 2024

 

Please read instructions carefully and submit the following:

Video Length Not to Exceed 3 Minutes Unless Otherwise Noted

DANCERS 12 yrs+ 
1) Ballet Combinations: 2:30 minute max
-Center Adagio Combination (demonstrating your highest controlled extensions)
-Center Pirouette Combination (demonstrating your technical turning ability)
-Center Grand Allegro Combination (demonstrating your jumping ability)
-Center Ballet Combination of your choice
2) Center Improv/Freestyle or Choreography: 1 minute max
-Please submit a work that showcases what you do best in a style of your choice
3) Flexibility Demonstration: 15 seconds max
-Show off all 3 splits (R/L front and Side) and your best back bridge
4) Pointe Video (Only if you have 3+ Years Pointe Experience ): 30-45 seconds max
-1 Center Combination demonstrating your technical “Pointe” ability
**For Dancers on Pointe**
Please also demonstrate - relevé, échappé, passé, piqué turns on diagonal

DANCERS 8-11 yrs 

1) Ballet Combination: 2 minute max
-Please demonstrate barre skills that including plié, tendu, passé, and grand battement
2) Flexibility Demonstration: 15 Second max
-Show off all 3 splits (R/L front and Side) and your best back bridge
3) Center Improv/Freestyle or Choreography: 1 minute max
-Please submit a work that showcases what you do best in a style of your choice.
