Our flagship Los Angeles summer intensive offers a comprehensive curriculum rooted in techniques of Ballet and Modern with additional classes in Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, Dunham, Tap, and Musical Theater. Dancers ages 8 and up are invited to audition. Instruction is led by DADA's expert faculty plus an elite roster of guest artists. Previous guests have included Adji Cissoko (LINES), Christopher Huggins (ALVIN AILEY repetituer), Darrell Moultrie (international choreographer) and more. The intensive culminates with a concert showcase for family and friends. Video auditions accepted.

All results are emailed following the audition. If you do not receive your results after one week, please email registrar@debbieallendanceacademy.com. You will have two weeks to accept your invitation. After that time, you will be placed on a waitlist. Those on the waitlist will be contacted after the completion of all auditions depending on availability.

VIDEO AUDITIONS
ALL VIDEO AUDITIONS FOR THE LA SUMMER INTENSIVE ARE DUE BY May 31, 2026

 

Please read instructions carefully and submit the following:

DANCERS 12 yrs+ 
1. Ballet Combinations: 2:30 max

     - Center Adagio Combination (demonstrating your highest controlled extension)
     - Center Pirouette Combination (demonstrating your technical turning ability)
     - Center Grand Allegro Combination (demonstrating your  jumping ability)
     - Center Ballet Combination of your choice

2. Center Improv/Freestyle or Choreography: 1 minute max
     - Please submit a work that showcases what you do best in a style of your choice
3. Flexibility Demonstration: 15 seconds max
     - Show off all 3 splits (R/L front and Side) and your best back bridge
4. Pointe Video (Only if you have 3+ Years Pointe Experience ): 30-45 seconds max
     - Center Combination demonstrating your technical “Pointe” ability

If applicant is unfamiliar with the above requirements, please submit a video (not to exceed 2 minutes) showcasing applicants' modern or contemporary movement.

DANCERS 8-11 yrs 

1. Ballet Combination: 2 minute max
     - Please demonstrate barre skills that including plié, tendu, passé, and grand battement
2. Flexibility Demonstration: 15 Second max
     - Show off all 3 splits (R/L front and Side) and your best back bridge
3. Center Improv/Freestyle or Choreography: 1 minute max

Please submit a work that showcases what you do best in a style of your choice

 

If applicant is unfamiliar with the above requirements, please submit a 1-minute freestyle video in your discipline of choice.
